3 Earth Day 2010

Today is Earth Day we have worked out a plan to help make a difference to the health of our planet.

On Earth Day, and every day, we will:

1. use both sides of our scrap paper before putting it in the recycle bin
2. turn off our computers /Activboard when we are at PE, assembly, Te reo etc
3. turn the tap off while we soap-up our hands for 20 seconds
4. only use the classroom lights when we are reading and writing
(if it is not too dark)
5. be ambassadors within the school and at home to spread the word

We all hugged a tree today, found some really great environmental websites for kids to bookmark, made posters, spoke to other children in the school about our actions, and brainstormed ideas to add to our list of environmentally friendly things to do.

Yes we are. We intend to form an Environmental Group and an Edible Garden Group too - we need some representatives from each class if you are interested... and by the way, I think your dragon is a-m-a-z-i-n-g! Well done!
